It is with great enthusiasm that we would like to announce the formal establishment of the IUAW.
International Union of Artistic Workers.
We are a collective of workers that represent our industries in the creative fields and our voice to fight for the rights and self-autonomy of labor in said industries.
With our union we seek the following goals:
- A living wage for each worker
- Protection from AI theft of labor and general wage theft
- Coalition building with other unions
- Medical benefits including childcare, disability, emergency, and worker’s compensation
- Disease safe spaces for workers. Including proper accommodations for disabled workers
- Collective and/or public ownership of workspaces and industry by workers. Including representation both civil and legal.
- A way to register with governments as a worker in creative fields
We hope to provide more information as we solidify our institution and invite cooperation and involvement from workers and other unions to further our collective power and ensure proper conditions, wages, and protections for all workers.
